About the plan
It began with one simple idea: that every Queenslander should have a say in the future of our state.
The Queensland Plan is our shared 30-year vision for the state—our roadmap for growth and prosperity.
Created by Queenslanders for Queensland, the plan is the result of the largest community engagement activity of its kind ever undertaken in the state with more than 80,000 people contributing to the process.
Queenslanders were involved every step of the way—sharing their time, defining the issues, coordinating the engagement and determining the vision.
The Queensland Plan is not designed to be a detailed action plan—these actions will follow as different sectors outline how they will contribute to implementation.
Instead, it paints a clear picture of nine foundations Queenslanders want to focus their attention on for the future and aims to unite us around common goals that will help us succeed.
These foundations are: Education, Community, Regions, Economy, Health and wellbeing, Environment, People, Infrastructure and Governance.
As expected, there was more consensus for some foundation areas than others but differing views are not surprising—they simply reinforce our democratic landscape and the complexity of the challenges ahead:
These challenges require us to be flexible and innovative and The Queensland Plan will put us in the best position to navigate the twists and turns ahead and capitalise on our opportunities to achieve even greater success.
Learn more about our changing world on page 6 of The Queensland Plan.
The Queensland Plan will remain a living document—evolving over time to respond to changes in the world around us.
While the Queensland Government has been proud to host the engagement process, and has outlined its approach to implementation in the Government Response, the plan’s outcomes and success rests in the hands of every Queenslander.

Thank you Queensland
